We are so proud of our Active School Flag and will be working towards renewing it in 2022-2023.

What is the Active School Flag?
Active School Flag is a Department of Education and Skills initiative supported by Healthy Ireland. The Active School Flag is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often.

The 3 main areas are Physical Education, Physical Activity and Partnerships. Click on the links below to find out more about these on the Active School website.

Our Active School Slogan is “Gadgets Away! Let’s go out and Play!'”

Well done to Ellie in First Class for winning the Slogan Competition in 2022.

We had an assembly at school to celebrate all the brilliant entries we had from many students in the school and to announce our winning slogan “Gadgets Away! Let’s get out and play!”

Well done to everyone who took part.

Here is our new Active School committee for the school year 2022/2023.

These boys and girls have been busy in Term 1 announcing the results of the Active Break Challenge over the intercom every week.

They also bring down the results for our WOW days (Walk on Wednesday).

In Term 2 they were very busy keeping track of the Run Around Ireland Challenge.

The First Class children have been fantastic playground leaders. They have been setting up the equipment for yard time and putting them away again. The children are really enjoying having equipment on the yard.

This year we introduced Active Homework as part of our weekly homework.

Every class gets Active homework once a week to encourage the children to exercise regularly and practice the skills covered in school.

Check out the resources from scoilnet if you would like to do more activities at home.

It is recommended that children exercise for 60 minutes every day.
