In October we really enjoyed some hand-on work with various resources to make patterns. Some of us made patterns to represent local club colours! During Maths week we used pegboards and bears to create patterns, and used wooden shapes to make tessellations. We followed the diagram that was on the task cards to create the pictures. We had to count how many of each shape was needed and take note of what colour the shapes needed to be. It was really enjoyable and the children made some of their own tessellations and their friends guessed what the shape picture was! We also learned about circles, squares, rectangles and triangles and made shape pictures too!
