During the month of April we were learning all about water. We read lots of lovely stories such as the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch and Tiddler the Storytelling Fish but The Rainbow Fish was a firm favourite! We also learned about the story The Children of Lir and the children wrote their own summaries of it. In SESE we investigated waterproof materials and learned all about the shark…we really enjoyed this. In Maths we learned about capacity and made estimates and then investigated if we were correct. During Aistear we built enclosures for our sea creatures, engaged in exploratory water play, created our own Rainbow fish and loved small world play. We continued to practice our school song Stop the Drip! As we are still working towards our Water Flag as part of the Greenschools initiative.
